MIO Leadership

The Made in Oklahoma Coalition is led by a distinguished panel of Oklahoma food and beverage industry professionals. The MIO board is composed of our officers, committee chairs, and founding members. MIO Coalition board members serve in a variety of roles and manage various aspects of the organization including retail and food service operations, special events, member outreach and education, and media/marketing. MIO board members have a combined experience level of over 200 years of experience in the food and beverage industry.

OUR FOUNDERS

MIO was created with a small but mighty group of seven founding members. Our founders have seen the organization grow
from a small seed of less than 10 companies to a thriving organization of 100 members and counting. Each founding
company has a permanent seat on the MIO Coalition board of directors. We are here today because of their leadership.

Emily Shuping Executive Director

Emily Shuping has served as the Executive Director for the Made in Oklahoma Coalition since 2017. Shuping oversees the operations of the Made in Oklahoma Coalition while serving as liaison between the Coalition and the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

Shuping is a proud graduate of Oklahoma State University having received her bachelor’s degree in agribusiness and her master’s degree in international agriculture from the Ferguson College of Agriculture in 2015 and 2019.

Emily is a graduate of Class XX the Oklahoma Agricultural Leadership Program and was selected as the 2022 Ferguson College of Agriculture Early Career Achievement Award. Additionally, Emily was honored as a 2021 Woman of Influence in the Food Industry by the Shelby-Griffin Report and serves as an inaugural class member of the Oklahoma Grocers NextGen Leadership Program.
