Since the early 1950s, Hansen’s Eggs has been supplying Oklahomans with the freshest, highest quality product, available in the food service and retail marketplace. Orville Hansen, our founder, began Hansen’s Eggs based off principles we still hold true today by asking a simple question. “How can we provide the freshest eggs, at an affordable price?” Since then, Hansen’s adopted a true “Farm-to-Fork” business model, but without all the frills and labels of a traditional product. Truly, wholesomely, and simply farm fresh eggs.
So how does it work? Well, our hens lay one egg every day. However, rather than gathering and storing these eggs in a cooler or selling them to a big-box distribution company; Hansen’s Eggs gathers, grades, and packs each day’s eggs. Then, those eggs are loaded directly on our trucks, and delivered to your local grocery store, restaurant, or food service company. On average, our eggs are between 24 and 48 hours old when they are delivered to their destination.
It does not stop there. We pride ourselves on quality all the way around. Therefore, our hens are fed a strict vegetarian diet, made up of locally sourced ingredients, many of which are grown on our own farm or the same county. For example, milo, a main ingredient, is grown right here on Hansen Farms, and sourced from Blaine and Kingfisher counties. This is why we have happiest, and healthiest hens!

If there’s a dessert dear to the hearts of Oklahomans, it’s pecan pie. If there’s been a pecan pie Oklahomans have been willing to travel for, it is Field’s pecan pie.
In 1962, an old building in downtown Pauls Valley was converted into a pie plant. The Fields hired 30 people and ran three 8-hour shifts a day, with two shorter shifts on weekends. Each baking day produced nearly 3,000 pies from their ovens.
When the brothers retired, the businesses were divided. Julian’s son, Julian Jr. took the restaurant and pie business. By 1967, the Fields had five trucks supplying fresh pies to Oklahomans. Julian Jr. and his wife, Wanda, realized expanding sales meant the company needed a new approach. They decided to bake pies in even larger quantities and freeze them so they would be able to ship them to a wider market. In order to do this, they needed a new plant.
In 1975, they opened the new plant and closed the old one. The pies that once came from a Field family kitchen began rolling out of giant ovens in a modern factory. It was 17,000 square feet of complex machinery and precast cement. They continued to have 30 employees; many of them have been with the Field’s family since the beginning. These employees have consisted of husbands and wives, mothers and daughters as well as three generations of one family all working together in the plant. With the new equipment those same employees could produce 12,000 pies in one eight-hour shift.
At Equally Yolked Eggs, we care about our animals, the environment and your health. Animal welfare and quality are our top priorities. That’s why we raise our hens on a natural, organic, GMO-free diet of corn and soybean meal. Each egg is produced by healthy hens eating this organic diet. We offer our pasture-raised hens 108 square feet per bird so they have room to explore and grow at their own pace. Our farm focuses on reducing our environmental impact, which is why we use a biodegradable carton so you can be proud of the product you bring home to your family.
