Lopez Foods

  |   By  |  0 Comments

Lopez Foods originated as a spin-off of Wilson Foods, a major force in the meat packing industry until the 1980s. Originally known as Anderson Meats, a Wilson Foods subsidiary, Lopez Foods started producing fresh, frozen beef patties for McDonald’s in 1968. Anderson Meats was sold to its management team and reformed briefly under the name Normac Foods. In 1992, controlling interest of the company was purchased by John C. Lopez, a successful McDonald’s owner/operator in Southern California. Lopez rebranded the company Lopez Foods in 1995 to reflect its diverse heritage. Building upon its rich food manufacturing experience, Lopez Foods is now recognized among the top meat companies in the United States and is an industry leader in supplying a variety of protein products to the largest restaurant chains and retailers in the world.

Ed Sanchez leads the company today as its Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining the Lopez Foods team, Sanchez was President of McDonald’s Latin America and Canada operations where he was responsible for more than 3,000 of the chain’s restaurants.

Food safety, customer satisfaction, quality, cutting-edge production philosophies, and product customization continue to define Lopez Foods as the nation’s largest Hispanic-owned meat processing company. Lopez Foods takes pride in the 40-year relationship it has enjoyed with McDonald’s. In addition to the beef, pork, and chicken products it supplies McDonald’s, Lopez Foods produces a variety of fully-cooked products.

Established in 1941 by founder Lloyd Johnson, Tulsa Fruit Company continued to grow and offer more than just produce. After outgrowing its existing facility, the company relocated and joined the Pro*Act network in 2007. With sustained growth, Tulsa Fruit Company rebranded as GoFresh Produce in 2009 and continued our ongoing expansion of available service areas. To better serve customers and continue expanding the availability of our products and services to new service areas, GoFresh opened a second warehouse in Oklahoma City.

Through a merger with Little Rock, Arkansas based Metro Foods, we have extended our distribution area allowing us to provide access to items such as Fresh Cut Produce, Fresh Bread and select Frozen products well into Central and Northwest Arkansas. To meet the needs of customers seeking easier ways to place orders, we launched the GoFresh Portal in 2015 to accommodate online purchases. Now a 3rd generation business, Lloyd Johnson’s great-grandchildren Colby Johnson, Gabe Johnson, and Cissy Smith operate the company.

GoFresh is committed to providing the best experience for fresh products possible, including fresh bread, dairy products, fruits and vegetables, processed items or any other products we may carry. By partnering with local farmers, we are able to provide great in-season products to chefs for a local and fresh experience. Whether you are looking for fresh produce, spices or anything in between, GoFresh is here to help.

By utilizing state of the art storage and climate-controlled facilities, we are able to give our clients the best product possible consistently. The implementation of tracking and routing systems has allowed us to service a wide area including Oklahoma, Arkansas, Southwest Missouri and Southern Kansas.

There’s a black and white picture just inside the front door of La Baguette Bistro. It shows Jean Buthion (left) standing in front of his boucherie in the South of France. The picture stands as a tribute to exceptional European cuisine and customer service with a personal touch. Both are the hallmark of the Brothers Buthion, Michel and Alain, and their commitment to excellence that has made La Baguette Bistro one of the most popular restaurants in Oklahoma City. They learned their skills from Jean and Suzanne Buthion and brought them to Oklahoma City in the early 80’s.

La Baguette Bistro has its own boucherie, as well as a bakery with a wide variety of sweet delicacies baked fresh each day and a warmly lit restaurant framed by an art gallery featuring Oklahoma artists. Moreover, they serve only the finest cuisine at prices designed to delight their customers with every visit. Chef Alain is in charge of the piece de resistance and Michel brings his own special touch to each table along with his talented, carefully trained team focused on thoughtful personal service.

It’s the reason La Baguette Bistro, crowned by its landmark Eiffel Tower on North May, has become a destination for new and regular customers alike for decades. And Oklahoma City has Suzanne and Jean Buthion to thank for that.

Ken’s Bakery

Serving Sweetness Since 1960

Ken Daniels founded Ken’s Bakery in 1960 having recently returned home from his service in the U.S. Marine Corps. The roots of this family owned business, however, date back over a century when Ken’s father sold his baked goods on street cars, then via delivery truck, then through his Daniels Pastries retail establishment in downtown Oklahoma City. A guiding principle of Ken’s Bakery is to always be responsive to client needs. To meet increased customer demand decades ago, Ken’s Bakery evolved from delivering freshly baked goods daily to producing frozen products.

Today, Ken’s Bakery is a wholesale manufacturer of frozen bakery products whose clients are primarily food distributors. Our products are found in restaurants, casinos, in-store bakeries, and schools in multiple states. The size of our business positions us to be competitive with our pricing and flexible to meet unique customer requests. Currently specializing in cobblers and pies, Ken’s Bakery will be expanding its product line in 2020. As it has for the last 60 years, Ken’s Bakery remains committed to producing quality products with original formulas and stellar customer service.

Hi and Welcome to Kayterra Farms.

My name is Claudia Chambers-Beach. I grew up farming here in Oklahoma and started Kayterra Farms with a mission back in 2016.

Our entire team here is committed to creating and producing foods that you can feel good about feeding your family.
We have wonderful jams and delicious seasonal butters that we hand craft here in our kitchen.
I’ve also expanded a new line called Aunt Stella with amazing pickled products! Yes she really is my aunt and she gets all the credit for the incredible recipes!

When you buy from Kayterra Farms, you are purchasing a quality product that has less sugar, more fruit and is all-natural… from the pure cane sugar, to the natural fruit pectin that holds it all together
That’s what we do…we connect people to a more simple time in history, when things were still made by hand. When food was still REAL, authentic and DELICIOUS!!

So, from my family to yours!!

Peace and Much Love,
Claudia

At J-M Farms, it is our mission is to provide the safest, best quality and most competitively priced product to our customers while doing so at the most economical cost. We recognize that our team members are our most valuable asset and everyone will strive to provide the safest working environment possible. Our team members place our support in the communities that we live in and strive to ensure a better way of life.

The first mushrooms were picked on March 13, 1980 and the first delivery was made the following day to Associated Wholesale Grocers of Springfield, MO. During the summer of 1983 we began construction on an expansion which would increase the farm’s growing capacity by 100%. Crossland Construction Co, our original builder, completed this expansion. Another expansion of 16% came in 1986. In 1991, construction began on our third major expansion increasing capacity by yet another 50% Building expansions and changes in technology have allowed the farm to grow over 60096sq ft from its original size and growing capacity. In December of 2020, again with the help of Crossland Construction, J-M completed its Phase II Tunnel Facility. This is a 40,000 sq ft state of the art facility that houses the critical pasteurization process, as well as the final compost conditioning operations. This addition incorporates advanced technology that is much more energy efficient than our past processes and improves overall crop consistency. J-M is committed to being the best neighbor we can be, to our hometown of Miami, and to our home state of Oklahoma. We hope that by bringing this advanced technology to the Miami area, we can be even better than before.

J-M Farms, Inc. packs under the J-M Fresh label. Our fleet of trucks deliver product to Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Wyoming. 2020 marked J-M’s 40th anniversary. We are proud of this achievement. Our team of dedicated employees have made this possible, and we look forward to our continued success over the next 40 years. The future is bright for mushrooms!
