Chai Latte

It’s easier than you think to make a coffee house-style chai latte at home.

  1. 6 cups De Vine or Ozarka Water, cold
  2. 2 teaspoons black peppercorns
  3. 10 whole cloves
  4. 1 small star anise
  5. 6 cardamom pods
  6. 12 piece fresh finger, sliced thinly
  7. 2 cinnamon sticks
  8. 6 bags Darjeeling tea
  9. 2 cups Dairy Pure Whole Milk
  10. 1/3 cup Cheatwoods Pure Raw Honey
  1. Place the peppercorns and cloves in a medium saucepan, and crush slightly using a large serving spoon.
  2. Add the cardamom and anise, crushing again with a spoon.
  3. Add the water, ginger and cinnamon stick and bring to soft boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and allow it to simmer gently for 10 tp 15 minutes.
  5. Add the tea, and allow it to steep for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  6. At this point the mixture is ready for straining a fine sieve works well.
  7. Add the milk and honey, and return to the heat until it has returned to a gentle simmer.
  8. Whisk briskly when pouring, and serve hot.
