Bar-S Oklahoma Candied Bacon Twists with DIY Dip Bar

Ingredients

1 pound Bar-S Bacon
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Toppings:
Hot honey + finely chopped peanuts + lime zest + chopped cilantro
Melted chocolate + finely chopped pistachios
Melted chocolate + very finely chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and top with a wire rack.

Combine brown sugar, black pepper, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper in a shallow bowl. Press each slice into the mixture to coat.

Hold a bacon strip and twist from both sides. Repeat with each slice. Place twisted bacon slices on the wire rack.

Bake until bacon is browned and crisp. This takes 30-40 minutes, depending on how crisp you like it.

Let cool to help firm, then drizzle with hot honey and sprinkle with pistachios for a savory-sweet combo, or dip in melted chocolate and sprinkle with pistachios for a Dubai chocolate-inspired treat. Or, drizzle with honey, sprinkle with chopped peanuts and cilantro and lime zest.
