Open Faced Mushroom Sandwich
An Original Recipe by Kurt Fleischfresser
- 6 slices of bread (like pumpernickel or your favorite flavor)
- 6 oz. JM Farms Oyster Mushrooms (sliced)
- 6 oz. JM Farms Button Mushrooms (sliced)
- 6 oz. JM Farms Shiitake Mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 yellow onion (sliced very thin)
- 3 tbsp. Hiland Butter
- ¼ cup dry wine or brandy
Instructions
In a heated heavy skillet put the olive oil. When the oil is extremely hot add the mushrooms and onions, season with salt and pepper. Toast the bread and spread a thin layer of butter on each slice. Put 1 slice of cheese on each piece of toast. When the mushrooms and onion are nice and brown you can deglaze with a little wine or brandy if you wish. Dived the mushrooms up between the toasts and serve immediately.
