Onion Stuffed Brats Wrapped in Bacon

  • 6 Bar-S Smoked Bratwursts
  • 6 Bar-S Hickory Smoked Bacon Strips
  • 1 yellow onion (sliced very thin)
  • 2 T olive oil
  • ¼ C asiago cheese

Instructions

In a heavy skillet put the olive oil and onions and cook until the onions golden to brownish tint.  Butterfly the Bratwursts open from end to end.  Divide the caramelized onion and spread into each Bratwurst.  Wrap each Brat with a strip of bacon and stick with toothpicks to hold.  Bake in the oven at 400 degrees until the bacon is crisp remove from the oven and remove toothpicks.  Eat in a bun or with a fork and knife.
