Choucrote Gami

  • 4 Pork Chops
  • 10 oz. sliced smoked ham
  • 1pkg. Bar-S Hot Link
  • 1 med. onion (chopped)
  • 1pkg. Bar-S Bacon
  • 2 jars sauerkraut
  • salt
  • pepper
  • bay leaf

Instructions

In France, they make a classic Alsatian dish called Choucrote Gami. It is much easier than it sounds. All you have to do is brown 4 pork chops, 10 ounces of sliced smoked ham, one Bar-S hot link cut into diagonal strips and one medium-sized, chopped onion. Add to this mixture some Bar-S bacon slices, coarsely cut and pre-cooked. Add to these ingredients 2 jars of Old Germany Sauerkraut that has been rinsed in cold water. Season with salt, pepper, and one cup of Oklahoma wine along with a bay leaf. Cover and let simmer over low heat for about 20 minutes or until the pork chops are completely cooked. Serve with crusty bread and Oklahoma’s Moon Feather’s Riesling wine.
